The Wedding

Both the ceremony and reception went great! We had a lot of fun and they tell us that we even actually got married at some point during the whole circus!

The highlights of the ceremnoy for the guests included when our mother's high-fived one another after lighting the unity candles and, of course, the soap explosions from Matthew and Dan as we exited the church. Unfortunately, we missed both of these events as neither of us were actually in the room for the high-five and the soap explosions were behind us. Oh well, at least we have pics. Anyway the highlight for me was seeing Tamara in her dress for the first time while walking down the aisle.

The reception was fun. The fishes were a huge hit, and they were all adopted quickly, in fact, I believe there was actually more demand than supply! I'm trying to compile a list of what they all got named, so far I know of 'George', 'Bubbles' and 'Mr. Fish' (who was very nearly 'Captain Nachos'). And surprisingly, Tamara and I successfully left the reception without anyone doing anything horrible to our car!

(Obviously I didn't actually post this on the night of the wedding, I'm just pre-dating it.)

Rehearsal

The rehearsal and rehearsal dinner are tonight!

People keep telling me that I should be nervous, but really I don't see why. Mostly I'm worried that we'll forget to take care of some little detail. And even that is a pretty abstract worry since things like that don't tend to bother me. 'Polite' conversation starters such as, "So, are you neverous?", however, seem to really get to me.

Diploma

I just got my Master of Science in Physics diploma today! Very cool, and the postman even managed to not bend the heck out of it!

I'm such a dork

A Google search for Tim McArdle brings my webpage up fourth! The third result is actually me too, from the summer I spent up at MSU, it's weird, I never actually did anything with it but it ranks really high. Also, a search for Timothy James McArdle returns my resume/CV as the first/second result!

Long Weekend

Saturday: The Bachelor Party. Actually, it was fairly tame, but that doesn't mean I'm going to post any details. However, I will say that we started the night at the new mexican restaurant in town, Casa Fiesta. The service was slow, the food was bland, and the prices were high, not really what you expect (or want) at a mexican restaurant.

Sunday: The Bridal Shower. I'm told it went very well, and that Melanie did a fantastic job! It was pretty tough to pull off given Tamara's schedule and the fact that half the attendents live up near Chicago. Tamara got a bunch of great gifts, but I think here favorite was the recipe box that my grandfather had made and my Aunt and Mom filled with family recipes.

I ended up golfing with Dan, Dad and Cosmo. Not really my favorite activity, but it was nice out, and I suppose otherwise I would have just been playing Knights of the Old Republic all day.

Next weekend should be even crazier the Van Volunteer Reunion and EOH. Plus it's also the department's grad student recruiting weekend and there's something called 'Pom Pom Weekend' that's made securing hotel rooms a real headache. The good news is I think I finally lined up a restaurant for us on Friday night.
