To Serve, Man.

I joined the adult tennis clinic at the Atkins Tennis Center, and it turns out that I'm not really in the same shape I was in back in high school. It met for the first time last night, and while I'm still ok, I was definitely losing control of my shots as I got tired. (In general, you're not supposed to hit the ball off the frame of the racket.) And I was a little sore today.

The one thing I still have going for me is that I can still serve really hard. I took some flack for suggesting that we do some serving warm ups before using serves in a drill...and then hitting a few aces. But if I could end the point in one shot, my poor endurance didn't really matter.

Most of the guys there were somewhat older, but there were also three or four that were in the same situation as me (had played on their high school teams a few years ago). Overall, they seem like a pretty fun group. Hopefully, I'll get ck to join too.
