Crouching Cassie

After mowing the lawn this morning, Cassie felt that she needed to inspect my work, so I decided to try to get a good picture of her playing 'Fearsome Jungle Cat'. However, I didn't have much luck, about two seconds after this pic, a neighbor sneezed slightly and Cassie bolted back into the house at full speed.

It was the fastest I've seen her move in quite awhile...

Things I've been putting off...

1) Finally started my IRA last week so that I could still count it as last year's contribution. I didn't quite max it out because I keep hearing that we're in a recession, but so far I've made $210--this seems like a great scam. The plan is for Tamara and I to max out our contributions for 2008 spread out over the next year.

2) Finally got a haircut.

3) Finally cleaned the gutters.

4) Finally got an eye exam and ordered some new glasses. I'll post more about them when I get them I guess, they needed to be sent out and will take up to two weeks. That solidly beats my old record for the longest time needed for glasses, not that I've ever gotten a pair in about an hour.

5) Finally updated this blog with something.

Panoramic - Canon PhotoStitch

My new camera came with a terrific piece of software called 'PhotoStitch'. While it's meant to work with the 'Stich assist' mode on Canon cameras, it can also work on any set of images you have.

To test it out, I tried putting together this panoramic shot that I had tried to get while visiting Tamara in Japan. I had never gotten it to work with photoshop, but this free canon program handled it terrifically. Not only did it assemble the images well, it even chopped out the posts from the sight seeing pavilion we were standing in! (Obviously it didn't have quite enough to work with on that last image.)
